On-point Skills training Mission Statement


The mission of the On-point Skills training is to develop human resources, to discover and disseminate knowledge, to extend knowledge and its application beyond the boundaries of its campus, and to serve and stimulate society by developing in learners heightened intellectual, cultural, and humane sensitivities, scientific, professional skills and technological expertise, and a sense of purpose. Inherent in this broad mission are methods of instruction, research, extended skills training, and public service designed to educate people and improve the human condition.

On-point Skills training aspires to be a nationally recognised leader among further education and training institutions serving learners who desire an alternative to traditional institutions of further learning.

ACADEMIC LEARNING OUTCOMES

On-point Skills training further demonstrates its commitment to quality education by preparing learners for their professional and civic lives through course and program of study integration and assessment of five institutional academic outcomes. These outcomes reflect the vision, mission and core values of the College by preparing graduates with defined skill sets as well as to instill the pursuit of lifelong learning. These learning outcomes for all graduates are:

Arising from regular monitoring of services offered at On-point Skills training, improvements are at the heart of the Training Centre’s Quality assurance process

Transparency will ensure that those involved on both sides of the learning process are aware of their role and what they are entitled to expect. Making explicit that which has previously been assumed, and possibly misunderstood, is one of the key functions of Quality assurance. On-point Skills training is committed to ensure that transparency is upheld.

Equality is integrated in our quality assurance procedure, to facilitate Greater access to a diverse range of learners at our Training Centre.

On-point Skills training is embarked on a long-term process of improving its quality management system and the quality of its programmes. The appointment of the Assessor and Moderator was the first step.

The changes that have occurred in education and training during the past ten years necessitate a fresh approach to academic management for the College. We have appointed a Training Manager, with a number of sub-units devoted to specialist areas of learning. The Training Manager will fulfil the role currently played by hoc teams of experts. This approach will build in continuing and give the administration permanent access to pool of high level expertise.

As a further Education & Training institution, On-point Skills training ‘s mission is to promote the highest standards of competence and ethical conduct among its members. The mission is intended to facilitate achievements of On-point Skills training vision, which is to take the lead in the assessment and practice business, Skills Development and Training in South Africa. On-point Skills training Quality management Policy, therefore, have two thrusts:

The manner in which its members conduct themselves as employees, business people, and ultimately as citizen.

On-point Skills training regard both groups as members, and are therefore concerned with the “what” and the “how” of our employees’ performance as employees and members of society.

On-point Skills Training aims to produce graduates and to provide a professional home for people who are capable, flexible, committed, and open to life-long learning and Skills Development, respectful of other people and of life in general, critical thinkers, contextually aware and sensitive to the impact of their decisions and actions.
